Sometimes all it needs is a helping hand and a person to understand。 This book, though a very short read, serves the purpose successfully。 This book should be a must read for the children。 Sometimes the kids don't understand the real scene and give in to what the society wants from them。 Everyone comes from a different background and everyone should be proud of their culture。 The author has conveyed the message beautifully。 Sometimes all it needs is a helping hand and a person to understand。 This book, though a very short read, serves the purpose successfully。 This book should be a must read for the children。 Sometimes the kids don't understand the real scene and give in to what the society wants from them。 Everyone comes from a different background and everyone should be proud of their culture。 The author has conveyed the message beautifully。 。。。more

This is my younger brother's favorite book now。 And I read it too 😇。 I will recommend this book to every child。 Children will know that everyone has their own culture and they should proud of it 💛。 When I saw the cover of this book I thought it was about lunch。 Not only different food but also described 'culture differences' so deeply and I loved it so much。 Thanks to the author for sharing her childhood memories and making this as encouragement。 💛And thank you Debbi Min for the free copy。 This is my younger brother's favorite book now。 And I read it too 😇。 I will recommend this book to every child。 Children will know that everyone has their own culture and they should proud of it 💛。 When I saw the cover of this book I thought it was about lunch。 Not only different food but also described 'culture differences' so deeply and I loved it so much。 Thanks to the author for sharing her childhood memories and making this as encouragement。 💛And thank you Debbi Min for the free copy。 。。。more

"Sometimes people make fun of things they've never seen before or they don't understand, but they don't always mean to hurt your feelings。" **A truly heart-warming tale about Mindset of people and childish insecurities。 ** **What I really love about this book is that this picture book has a story with moral that too in the real aspect of life。 As most of the picture books are too dreamy(fairy-tale like) and children also don't take moral too seriously。 ** The Yuckiest Lunch Box is a tale of "Sometimes people make fun of things they've never seen before or they don't understand, but they don't always mean to hurt your feelings。" **A truly heart-warming tale about Mindset of people and childish insecurities。 ** **What I really love about this book is that this picture book has a story with moral that too in the real aspect of life。 As most of the picture books are too dreamy(fairy-tale like) and children also don't take moral too seriously。 ** The Yuckiest Lunch Box is a tale of a little girl that lets her explain to respect, not just her but different other traditions as well。 In this story, a little girl, Nari, brings her favorite food Kimbap, to the school but is disheartened because of the harsh nature of her classmate's towards her lunchbox。 Later her mother told her to be positive and think differently about the situation instead of crying and getting angry on people。 Time and incidents make her realize how her mother was right。 This picture book is so cute that there's no part in the book that makes me not say, Aww on the cute childishness of the girl。 This is a must-read book to all the parents and teachers out there as their ignorance towards such small yet sensitive matters leads to children being hesitant to tell even big problems of their life。 *This is a eye-opening story told in a very cute way, about believing and accepting one own Culture and Tradition and being proud of it。 * This book can also be seen as answer to various parents who are struggling with their children not understanding what they have been believing till now * The illustrations are also so cute and lively, each and every emotions of the characters are shown perfectly。 * I am really eagerly waiting for another book of this genre by the author。 。。。more

This is such an uplifting picture book for young children! 。。。more

This book is a must have for teachers。 It’s so perfect for the classroom, especially if you have a diverse group。 About a young girl named Nari who gets teased at school about her Korean lunch。 Feeling upset, she asks her mom to give her an American style lunch from now on, so she can fit in better。 Mom explained that food is part of her culture and that sometimes if it’s new to them they might poke fun at it but they aren’t trying to hurt her feelings。 Then Cultural Appreciation day comes and This book is a must have for teachers。 It’s so perfect for the classroom, especially if you have a diverse group。 About a young girl named Nari who gets teased at school about her Korean lunch。 Feeling upset, she asks her mom to give her an American style lunch from now on, so she can fit in better。 Mom explained that food is part of her culture and that sometimes if it’s new to them they might poke fun at it but they aren’t trying to hurt her feelings。 Then Cultural Appreciation day comes and so of course Nari wore a hanbok and brought in some traditional Korean food 😃 the kids started to poke fun at the food until Emily’s mom tried a seaweed rice roll and loved it!! The other kids are sold and all begin to try it for themselves。 Nari feels better about the entire situation now and isn’t afraid to share her culture or eat what she wants。 Before long a new boy called Vikram shows up at school。 He pulls out his Indian lunch and some kids comment on the strange meal。 Nari remembering what happened to her, asks for a bite of his naan。 Speaking loud enough for everyone to hear she says “This is Dee-Lucius!”。 Pretty soon he was sharing his naan with everyone and of course once they tried it, they loved it! My 7 year olds really enjoyed it。 We had an interesting conversation about food afterwards, according to them some people like to eat bugs, which is ok too。😂 they still got some of the important messages from the book。 We talked about why it’s important to not just instantly make fun of things that are new, give them a chance。 There’s nothing wrong with being proud of who you are and sharing your culture with people。 Also sometimes it can hurt people’s feelings if you make fun of their culture so try to be accepting of everyone because we’re all different。 Ultimately this book is a beautiful reminder to be curious rather than judgmental。 。。。more

Thank you Debbie for the free e-book copy of your picture book! I enjoyed this cute story about cultural differences and food, especially because I know many have had similar experiences to Nari / Debbie。 I really hope this book helps kids embrace their family's traditions。 This book's core message is about cultural pride and not letting the ignorance of others change how you express yourself and show your culture。 Because when it's kids, they usually don't mean harm; they just don't understand。 Thank you Debbie for the free e-book copy of your picture book!
